Monster Hunters Wilds Teases ‘Bubble Fox’ Mizutsune For First Free Content Update Showcase | MMORPG.com

Less than a month after the successful release of Monster Hunter Wilds, we’ll be getting a look at the first free update for Hunters. The update, called the “Free Title Update 1,” will be unveiled during a “Monster Hunter Wilds Showcase” featuring producer Ryozo Tsujimoto on March 25.

The big highlight for this teaser is the Mizutsune, a returning Leviathan to be found in the Forbidden Lands. Known as the “bubble fox,” it has a soapy coat on its body that lets it glide across terrain (or be knocked over easily) and shoots explosive bubbles and water from its mouth. Only males are seen in the hunt, as the otherwise-peaceful axolotl-fox hybrids tend to go wild during mating season.

Monster Hunter’s socials also tease “a host of other new additions,” which, hopefully as advertised, should come free for all players.

Wilds has become the latest in AAA hits to sweep gaming culture as a follow-up to Monster Hunter Worlds, with both being more approachable than ever to wider audiences. Our own team at MMORPG found it to be a stellar addition to the franchise, with seamless environments (even if combat UI gets a bit clunky).

Monster Hunter Wilds’s Free Title Update 1 Showcase will air on March 25, at 7:00 a.m. PDT (10:00 a.m. EDT), assumedly on the YouTube channel and elsewhere.
