NBA Trade Rumor: Warriors Willing To Trade 3-Time NBA Champion To Land Nuggets’ Star Forward to Form Deadly Trio With Stephen Curry and Jimmy Butler

The Golden State Warriors have been in an invincible form lately. The team has won 15 of the last 16 games and has emerged as a serious contender to go deep into the playoffs out of nowhere. While the likes of Jimmy Butler and Stephen Curry are delivering at all ends for the Warriors, the franchise is not complacent and wants to further add fuel to the squad. In the process the Golden State Warriors have their sights set on a Denver Nuggets star.

As per reports, the Warriors are willing to trade three-time NBA champion Kevon Looney to bring on board Michael Porter Jr. from the Denver Nuggets.

Michael Porter Jr., a 6-foot-10 forward, has been a consistent performer for the Nuggets this season, averaging 18.3 points, seven rebounds, and 2.5 three-pointers. His shooting efficiency is impressive, with a 50.4% field goal percentage and a 40% success rate from beyond the arc. Despite not having attaining his expected superstar status, Porter Jr. is one of the league’s most consistent third-scoring alternatives.

“Denver Nuggets star forward Michael Porter Jr. has had his name swirl in trade rumors throughout the season,” wrote Matthew Legros of Empire Sports Media. “The Warriors should make a push for him if the Nuggets float his name on the trade block in the summer.”

The Nuggets, who are now in the heart of the title chase, would most certainly seek a mix of veteran and young talent in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. His lucrative contract, which pays him more than $38 million per year for the next two seasons, complicates any potential deal. A suggested trade would see Golden State send Buddy Hield, Moses Moody, Kevon Looney, and a future first-round selection to Denver in exchange for Porter Jr. and DeAndre Jordan.

Michael Porter Jr.’s skillset makes him an attractive target for the Golden State Warriors. Though they have the greatest 3-point shooter in the squad in the form of Curry, having a decent shooter who can throw from out of the arc will be more than welcomed.
