New evacuation order issued for Stillwater as fire approaches neighborhoods
The Stillwater Emergency Management Agency is asking residents within a certain part of town to evacuate immediately Friday night.

OKAY, SO FOR THE PEOPLE IN STILLWATER, WE NEED TO EVACUATE. WE NEED FROM HIGHWAY 51 AND RANGE ROAD SOUTH TO 19 19TH AND RANGE EAST TO 19TH AND COUNTRY CLUB NORTH TO SIXTH OR HIGHWAY 51 AND COUNTRY CLUB. WE NEED THAT SQUARE MILE SECTION. WE NEED PEOPLE TO EVACUATE. WE’RE ASKING PEOPLE TO EVACUATE. THE FIRE HAS CROSSED THE ROAD INTO THE NEIGHBORHOODS. WE HAVE SEVERAL STRUCTURES ON FIRE IN THE AREA. WE’RE ASKING PEOPLE TO EVACUATE WHERE YOU CAN GO. YOU CAN GO TO THE STILLWATER CHURCH OF CHRIST, LOCATED AT DUNCAN MCELROY. YOU CAN GO TO THE STILLWATER HIGH SCHOOL. YOU CAN GO TO THE STILLWATER COMMUNITY CENTER. WE HAVE EVACUATION SITES OPENING UP IN THOSE LOCATIONS. WE ARE ALSO IN ADDITION, WE ARE EVACUATING THE HOLIDAY INN EXPRESS. WE ARE EVACUATING THE HAMPTON DE LA QUINTA, AND WE ARE ASKING WALMART ON WEST WALMART. 4545 WEST SIXTH AVENUE, TO EVACUATE, AS WELL. AS A PRECAUTION. STILLWATER, Okla. —The Stillwater Emergency Management Agency is asking residents within a certain part of town to evacuate immediately Friday night.

Rob Hill, director of emergency management, said residents in the area of Highway 51 and Range Road south to 19th and Range, east to 19th and Country Club and north to Highway 51 and Country Club should evacuate.
“We’re asking people to evacuate, the fire has crossed the road into the neighborhoods. We have several structures on fire,” Hill said. “We are evacuating the Holiday Inn Express. We are evacuating the Hampton, the La Quinta and we are asking Walmart … to evacuate as well as a precaution.”
