This time VAR have intervened and Alexander Isak, who has had a really poor game by his standards, has converted it. Newcastle deserve their lead. They have had two efforts cleared off the line and Tonali has hit the crossbar too.

3:44PM Oh dear Ben Johnson. The Ipswich full back was booked for a ridiculous dive trying to con a penalty and has just been shown a red card for a second bookable offence, hauling Alexander Isak back after the Sweden international had dinked the ball past him with a lovely bit of skill.
It’s the first good thing Isak has done all afternoon and the striker has missed two excellent chances as well, the first a header from Harvey Barnes’s cross and the second almost immediately when he made a complete hash of a volley from Jacob Murphy’s pass.
