NFL Insider Offers Update On Market For Potential Patriots Target

The Los Angeles Rams tried to find a trade partner for Cooper Kupp, but it doesn’t look like they’ll get their wish.

According to NFL insider Ian Rapoport, the Rams are expected to release Kupp when the 2025 season officially begins Wednesday at 4 p.m. ET. The 31-year-old made LA’s willingness to trade him public, and it seemed like the NFC West side had no interest in bringing him back, especially after reportedly agreeing to a deal with Davanate Adams.

The New England Patriots likely will be an interested suitor. However, Rapoport added that there will be a “strong market” for Kupp, and the top NFL insider expects the veteran wideout to find a team “quickly.”

New England reportedly is no stranger to working behind the scenes with players it is interested in. But if the Patriots want Kupp, they might have to work quickly, as a lack of action after the first day of the legal tampering period might be related to teams getting offers ready to Kupp.

The only offensive skill moves the Patriots made were reportedly agreeing to deals with wide receiver Mack Hollins and quarterback Joshua Dobbs. New England will need to do more if it wants to help out Drake Maye heading into his sophomore season.
