Paddy Pimblett beat the brakes off Michael Chandler in the UFC 314 pay-per-view (PPV) co-main event last Sat. night (April 12, 2025) at Kaseya Center in Miami, Florida. As a result, “The Baddy” is expected to replace “Iron” in the Top 10 of the official lightweight rankings.

Hopefully you didn’t take Conor McGregor’s betting advice before the show. “Notorious” dropped a big bag on “Iron” to win by “brutal” knockout. Instead, the former Bellator MMA lightweight champion got his ass handed to him before getting stopped in the third round.
So what’s next for Pimblett?

“Anyone in the top four, top five, I want that world title,” Pimblett told Joe Rogan. “Laugh all you want and say I’ll never be champ, just like you said I’ll never get ranked, I’ll never be in the Top 10. Well what now, you gang of mushrooms. I want Dustin (Poirier), Justin (Gaethje), Charles (Oliveira) or the little posh boy Arman (Tsarukyan), any of them four.”
I guess Pimblett (23-3) has moved on from his Conor McGregor dream fight.
“I respect Dustin, Justin, and Charles,” a fired-up Pimblett continued. “Charles is the biggest legend out of them all and he gets called the best submission artist the UFC has ever seen. Well I dispute that — I’m here! So me versus Charles. F—k Arman, he’s a little helmet. F—k that sausage.”
Pimblett was beefing with Tsarukyan ahead of UFC 314.

All four of the fighters named by the 30 year-old Pimblett are currently unbooked; however, the division is stuck in a holding pattern as matchmakers try to convince current lightweight champion, Islam Makhachev, to fight former 145-pound titleholder, Ilia Topuria.
Chandler, who turns 39 later this month, is just 2-5 under the UFC banner.
