Person dead, LMPD officer injured after crash on Fern Valley Road

A person is dead and a Louisville Metro Police Department officer is in the hospital after a crash on Fern Valley Road.LMPD said the crash happened around 9 p.m. Wednesday at Fern Valley Road and Jeanine Drive.Police said an officer was called on a run to assist EMS, and while on his way to the scene, they hit a vehicle heading west on Fern Valley Road. LMPD said the vehicle turned in front of the officer.The person driving the vehicle that was hit was killed, while the LMPD officer was taken to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.The crash is under investigation.
