FRANKS FROM HERE. MATT. YOU KNOW, ANTOINETTE. IT CERTAINLY FEELS AND SMELLS LIKE BASEBALL FANS HERE GETTING READY AND SO MUCH EXCITEMENT AS WE GET READY FOR THE HOME OPENER. SAUSAGE HERE GUYS. SWEET ITALIAN, HOT ITALIAN. FRESH OFF THE GRILL. YES, THE FAMILIAR SOUNDS OF FENWAY PARK. WHO SIGNED IT? TODAY? RAFAEL. THE RED SOX FANS HAVEN’T HAD MUCH TO CHEER FOR SINCE 2021. THE LAST TIME BOSTON SAW POSTSEASON BASEBALL. BUT THERE’S EXCITEMENT IN THE AIR FOR FRIDAY’S HOME OPENER, NOT JUST BECAUSE OF THE WEATHER IN THE 60S. I WANT DEVERS TO GET HOT, BUT BECAUSE OF ALL THE NEW ADDITIONS TO THIS BALLCLUB, BREGMAN, OBVIOUSLY, I LOVE THE CROCHET ONE. HE’S THAT TRUE NUMBER ONE GUY. AND WHILE THERE ARE STILL MAJOR QUESTIONS SURROUNDING THIS TEAM, THERE’S NO QUESTION THAT THE CITY JUST FEELS DIFFERENT WITH THE RETURN OF BASEBALL. WE’VE BEEN GETTING SOME FLACK, BUT IT’S BEEN FUN. WE’RE HAPPY TO BE HERE FOR SURE. WE CAN ALL AGREE TO NOT ROOT FOR THE YANKEES AND THE TRADITION THAT IS THE HOME OPENER THAT IS A CAN’T MISS FOR SO MANY GENERATIONS OF RED SOX FANS. The Boston Red Sox are opening their 125th home season, their 114th at Fenway Park, on Friday against the St. Louis Cardinals. Pregame ceremonies for the home opener will welcome members of the 1975 team to mark the 50th anniversary of the team’s American League Championship win and remember Red Sox Hall of Famer Luis Tiant, who died last year at the age of 83. Before the game, the teams will be introduced along the baselines, with the colors presented by the 1st Battalion and 181st Infantry Regiment of the Massachusetts National Guard, the 66th Air Base Group out of Hanscom Air Force Base, and members of the 1st Coast Guard District. Video Below: Opening Day forecastThe national anthem will be performed by the Boston Arts Academy “Treble Allstars” and punctuated by a fly-over by two F-35s flown by the 134th Fighter Squadron, Green Mountain Boys of the Vermont Air National Guard and one KC-46 from the New Hampshire Air National Guard’s 157th Air Refueling Wing.Fans coming to the park have a lot to look forward to on and off the field. New video boards, which are crisp, clear and more visible, have been installed.Fans will also see some new faces on this year’s team, including two time all-star Alex Bregman, lefties Garrett Crochet and Jovani Moran and World Series champions Walker Buehler and Patrick Sandoval, who’s not expected to pitch until mid-season due to recent Tommy John surgery. New Menu Items at Fenway ParkBring your appetite when you head to the park this season — some new food items are on the menu.New concessions include The Cowboy Up!
