Purdue’s Braden Smith Makes NIL Announcement Amid NCAA Tournament

Braden Smith has been the quiet cornerstone of the Purdue Boilermakers for the past several years and the NCAA Tournament has helped him shine brighter.

Purdue beat High Point, 75-63, in the first round and the McNeese State Cowboys, 76-62, in the round of 32. Before the Boilermakers punched their ticket to the Sweet 16, Smith announced on social media his latest name, image and likeness licensing deal with Stanley, a company that manufactures food and beverage containers.

“Go Time,” Smith said.

According to On3, Smith has a $1.9 million NIL valuation. In addition to his deal with Stanley, Smith has partnered with The NIL Store, Heydude Shoes and the Purdue NIL Store.

In the win over the Cowboys, Smith posted 10 points, four rebounds and five assists.

So far this season, the All-Big Ten star has averaged 16 points, 4.5 rebounds and 8.5 assists per game. During his third year at Purdue, Smith established himself as arguably the best facilitator in the country.

Smith and the Boilermakers are preparing for a Sweet 16 game against No. 1 Houston on Friday. Tipoff is approximately 10:09 p.m. ET.
