Saquon Barkley takes the Philadelphia Eagles to a key player for the New York Giants defense

The Philadelphia Eagles’ defensive line, following Milton Williams’ departure to the New England Patriots, hasn’t fallen behind and has signed former New York Giants defensive end Azeez Ojulari to a one-year, $4 million contract.

Ojulari, the Giants’ second-round pick in the 2021 draft, had six sacks and seven tackles last season. His best year was his rookie season when he registered eight sacks.

In total, Ojulari has accumulated 22 sacks in the NFL, and when on the field, he has always been an important player for the New York Giants. However, the big issue for the defensive player has been injuries, which have plagued his career.

Injuries have prevented him from becoming an NFL Star

Injuries to his quadriceps, ankle, hamstring, and fractures have kept Ojulari from becoming a prominent player in the league. However, he has the talent, and in a physical team like the champions, Azeez could make an immediate impact.

Despite the loss of Milton Williams, the Eagles still have one of the most important defenses in the entire NFL. Last season, they finished as the second-best in the NFL, with a defensive line led by the spectacular Jalen Carter.

The same path as Saquon Barkley

Saquon also left the Giants last year to sign with the Eagles, and the rest is history. Barkley had a perfect season, which culminated in impressive statistics and a Super Bowl victory for Philadelphia, becoming the highest-paid running back in NFL history.

This offseason, the Eagles also acquired cornerback Adoree Jackson, who also comes from the Giants. So, recently, the Eagles have been picking up players from their division rival, which has struggled immensely in recent years.
