The Studio gives Hollywood buffs insight into how movies are made — and how the process is often as dramatic as the films themselves.
Starring Seth Rogen as the newly appointed head of a large studio, the Apple TV+ comedy series, out March 26, follows his team of executives as they “wrangle narcissistic artists and craven corporate overlords in the ever-elusive pursuit of making great films.”
But as the synopsis suggests, Matt’s greatest obstacle is his lifelong love of the movies he’s now been tasked to ruin.
While the main cast is already star-studded with names like Catherine O’Hara, Kathryn Hahn and Bryan Cranston in recurring roles, the guest appearances are just as big. Viewers can expect cameos from the likes of Greta Lee, Martin Scorsese, Olivia Wilde, Zoë Kravitz, Ron Howard, Charlize Theron and Adam Scott, to name a few.
Here’s everything to know about the cast of The Studio.

Rogen leads the comedy series as Matt Remick, a lifelong movie buff who finally realizes his dream of being the head of a Hollywood movie studio. But the demands of the jobs are more intense than he could have ever imagined, including dodging items lobbed at him from crazed actors and trying to convince Scorsese to direct a movie that’s essentially an ad for Kool-Aid.
Getting major names like Scorsese to act as the most egocentric, exaggerated versions of themselves was no easy task. But Rogen said the real work began after they said yes.
“I remember my mother called me that morning and was like, ‘Oh my God, you have to direct Martin Scorsese. How scary is that?’ ” the Canadian actor, producer and director recalled to Vanity Fair. “And I’m like, ‘Thanks, Mom. Yes, it’s terrifying. That’s not helping.’ ”
Rogen got his first breakout role on the comedy series Freaks and Geeks in 1999. He’s gone on to star in major films like Superbad, Knocked Up and Pineapple Express, some of which he also wrote and directed.
Next, he’ll star alongside Keanu Reeves, Keke Palmer and Sandra Oh in Aziz Ansari’s feature directorial debut Good Fortune, which is set to release in October 2025, per Deadline.
Off-screen, he’s been married to his wife, Lauren Miller, since 2011.

O’Hara plays Hollywood executive Patty Leigh, Matt’s predecessor at Continental Studios and his close confidante. She told Forbes in March 2025 that fellow Canadians Rogen and co-creator Evan Goldberg talked her into the role.
“They made it sound like it was going to be so good and so fun and so informative,” the actress said. “Then, the scripts came in and they were great — really funny. I’ve never played, I don’t think, someone like this in this kind of power position, who loses it right away.”
Born and raised in Toronto, O’Hara is best known for her roles in film series like Beetlejuice and Home Alone and for starring in the Emmy-winning comedy show Schitt’s Creek. The actress is signed on to appear in the second season of the post-apocalyptic series The Last of Us, premiering on April 13.
O’Hara has been married to her husband, production designer Bo Welch, since 1992, and they share two sons, Matthew and Luke.

Ike Barinholtz stars in The Studio as Sal Seperstein, one of Matt’s colleagues and best friends who is often tasked with doing the studio head’s dirty work.
Though Barinholtz is no stranger to comedies — he most recently co-created Running Point with former The Mindy Project costar Mindy Kaling — he found this role in particular to be “very fun.”
“There was something very fun for me about playing that character in this kind of modern setting — in a position of power — where there’s a lot more scrutiny for guys like him now,” the actor told Forbes in March 2025. “I just thought it was fun to kind of take that ‘bull in a China shop,’ who back in the day would say whatever he wanted — and now, he still does but he just does it a little bit quieter.”
Outside of Hollywood, Barinholtz shares three daughters with his wife, Erica Hanson.

Chase Sui Wonders plays Quinn Hackett, Matt’s former assistant who has been promoted to creative executive.
Though her character often acts as the studio’s voice of reason, Wonders admitted to The Hollywood Reporter that she was also allowed to let her inner “freak” out.
“They really let me be a freak in this show, and that was so liberating, and it empowered me to embrace my inner court jester,” the Detroit-born performer said. “I just want to do more of this, because at the end of the day it’s just really fun to laugh.”
Prior to The Studio, Wonders appeared in the Bill Murray comedy On the Rocks and was in the cast of the HBO Max coming-of-age series Generation. Fans will also see her in the 2025 sequel of I Know What You Did Last Summer.

Hanh plays marketing specialist Maya in The Studio. The actress told Entertainment Weekly that she based her slightly manic and often foul-mouthed character on a number of real Hollywood businesswomen she’s met throughout her career.
“I can’t even say their names, but there are a lot of birds that inspired her, a lot of amazing women in this town that just have a girl at Saks,” Hahn told the outlet in 2024. “They come from a time in which you had to really fricking act like a dude in order to stay in the game and have this kind of patriarchal, ‘got to keep up with all the guys’ kind of vibe. There’s an amazing quiet desperation in her that I had a lot of empathy for.”
In addition to starring in the Marvel miniseries Agatha All Along, Hahn is best known for her comedic timing in movies like How to Lose a Guy in 10 Days, Step Brothers and We’re the Millers and shows like Parks and Recreation and Transparent.
Hahn has been married to actor Ethan Sandler since 2002, and they share two kids, Leonard and Mae.

Cranston portrays the mysterious and eccentric corporate overlord Griffin Mill in The Studio.
Best known for iconic roles like Walter White in Breaking Bad and Hal in Malcolm in the Middle, the Emmy-winning actor has also lent his skills to Broadway. In 2019, Cranston took home his second Tony award for his performance in Network.
The Hollywood-born actor has been married to his wife, actress Robin Dearden, since 1989. They welcomed their daughter, Taylor, in 1993.
