The road to Tampa starts in Columbia, South Carolina!The No. 1 seed South Carolina Gamecocks are back in the big dance, kicking off their 2025 NCAA Tournament journey with a 108-48 beatdown of No. 16 Tennessee Tech.South Carolina stormed out of the gates early, totaling 33 points in the first quarter alone thanks to some hot shooting by Tessa Johnson and Joyce Edwards.The Gamecocks would see it’s lead grow as the game progressed, heading to the half up 60-27.In her first NCAA Tournament experience, freshman forward Joyce Edwards hit the ground running — leading the way with a game-high 14 points in the first half, totaling 22 points.The Gamecocks shot a staggering 67.2% from the field and 63.2% from three.South Carolina advances to face No. 8 seed Indiana in the second round on Sunday.
