Saurabh Kumar: Ishan Kishan appears to be the missing link in SRH’s batting lineup, bringing the perfect balance to their attack. Looks like the ideal fit at No.3.Batting alongside explosive power batters like Travishek, Kishan now finds himself in an ideal environment to thrive. Kingshuk Kusari : Perfect fit for SRH in my opinion. He was stuck a little at MI due to players around him not performing to their best. But no such pressure at SRH at all. 94 runs have come in the powerplay for the SunRisers Hyderabad. Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma began from where they left last year. A terrific onslaugt from Head after Abhishek’s exit. Ishan Kishan, who is playing for the SunRisers for the first time, has also gone berserk.
Can we expect more of the same from Travis Head and Abhishek Sharma? They stitched 45 runs in just 19 balls today.
Akshay Ramesh: The bowlers should work these two out. But, it’s the intent that separates them from the rest. Look at how Maheesh Theekshana made errors in his first over. The SunRisers management is backing them to go all out from the word go. It’s going to be difficult to stop these two. But, the bowling teams will put in extra efforts to work out a way to stop Travishek. I reckon, they might not have the same success they had last year.
Kingshuk Kusari – SRH Fan: Hell yes. Abhishek is a much better batter this season, courtesy of his time with the Indian team. He has worked really hard on his pace hitting, something that wasn’t exactly his forte last season. And there is no evidence that Travis as regressed from last season. Exciting time for SRH this season.
Saurabh Kumar: Travishek look to have started this season where they had left last year. No respite for bowlers at all especially in this Hyderabad stadium in front of the Orange Army. “Means a lot, started here as a 17 year old. Getting to fill in big shoes, very excited. The impact rule helps with Sanju. We’ve retained a lot of our core so that helps with the batting order,” Parag said after winning the toss.
Pat Cummins, meanwhile, gets a huge roar as he walks on to talk to the broadcaster at the toss. He is so popular in Hyderabad — one of their own, the silencer.
“It is great to be back. The core of the group is the same, the coaching staff is the same. Don’t think batting or bowling first matters. It is pretty hot, so don’t mind bowling second. Would be nice to keep last season’s form going. We always encourage our games to play with freedom,” he said.
