The FDA Announces Recall on Two Popular Coffee Creamers

The ritual of a morning coffee with cream is a popular way to start the day for many, but before your next brew, you should check your refrigerator for these two popular creamers.

The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that International Delight is issuing a recall on two of its creamers due to “spoilage and illness with the use of the products.”

Here’s everything you need to know about the recall.

What products have been recalled?

The FDA has recently announced that the brand is recalling 75,000 bottles of International Delight Cinnabon Creamer and International Delight Hazelnut Creamer. The recall affects 31 states where the products were distributed. It is classified as a Class II recall, a mid-level alert, which means “a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote,” according to the FDA.

What states are affected?

If you live in one of the 31 states listed below, make sure to check your refrigerator for the affected products.

What is the exact reason for the recall?

International Delight’s parent company, Danone US, issued a voluntary recall out of caution that the creamers did not meet quality standards, stating the premature spoilage may cause texture issues. The FDA added further clarity to the retraction, stating they “received complaints of spoilage and illness with the use of the products.”

What should I do if I have the recalled product?

To confirm one or more products are part of the recalled batch, cross-reference the creamer’s product code, located near the barcode, with the number listed above as well as the “Best by date.”

If you find one or both of the confirmed recalled items in your fridge, do not drink them. If possible, return them to the store where they were purchased for a replacement or refund. You can also contact International Delight’s Consumer Care Line at 1-800-441-3321 with questions.
