The folks over at Paramount+ have been pretty hush-hush about what’s happening with 1923. Is Season 2 the end of the Yellowstone prequel? And if so, how many episodes are left to wrap things up? Because, let’s be honest, we’re ready for Spencer (Brandon Sklenar) and Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) to reunite already.

We’re pleased to say that we know the answer to at least one of those questions. While the streamer has yet to confirm that Season 2 is the end of the franchise (despite a few of the actors already doing so), it has revealed that 1923 Season 2 will conclude with seven episodes (instead of the suspected eight), with the finale airing on Sunday, April 6.

Now, we know what you’re thinking: an hour to wrap up so many loose storylines? An hour to hopefully watch Alex and Spencer finally find each other in Montana? It’s not nearly enough. Especially after the penultimate episode, “The Mountain Teeth of Monsters,” left off with seven shocking deaths and Alex and Spencer’s fate up in the air. Thankfully, Taylor Sheridan thought the same thing and decided to double up on the 1923 finale.

Following in the footsteps of the Yellowstone Season 5 grand finale, 1923 Season 2 will close in the same fashion, with an action-packed 2-hour finale event, titled “A Dream and a Memory.” This isn’t good news for all fans, who were expecting a new episode next Sunday night. One commented, “Just found out episode 7 is the final episode and no season 3!!! I am devastated 😢😢😢”

According to the logline of the episode, “Jacob [Harrison Ford] and his crew eagerly await Spencer’s return at the train station; Teonna [Aminah Nieves] has a fateful run-in; Alexandra braves the cold.”

And now, we wait. “A Dream and a Memory” will be available to stream on Sunday, April 6 on Paramount+.
