Tony Danza Channels His Inner Gangster in ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’ Sneak Peek [Exclusive]

Lines are being drawn in the sand today in a Collider-exclusive sneak peek of the upcoming installment of Power Book III: Raising Kanan. This week will mark the fourth season’s seventh episode, “Allow Me to Re-Introduce Myself,” which pushes the story further into what we can only presume will be a vicious, drama-filled, and brutal climax as Patina Miller’s Raquel Thomas continues her journey to become the biggest and most feared name in the drug dealing game. While MeKai Curtis, who plays the show’s titular lead, is absent from our exclusive sneak peek, audiences are invited to pull up a chair and sit in on a brainstorming session between Raquel, London Brown’s Marvin, and Tony Danza’s Stefano.

In a pinstriped button-up with his long white hair falling behind his shoulders, Stefano (Danza) gives his allies a breakdown of their competition. Things aren’t looking good for Raq and Marvin’s crew, who might soon find themselves caught up in a proxy war that they have no interest in being part of. Unfortunately, as Stefano explains to them, they don’t have much of a choice, as they’ve lost too much ground to Unique (Joey Bada$$) and his crew, who are gaining more allies and covering more territory by the day.

The latest season has seen Curtis’ Kanan Stark growing by leaps and bounds, and fully embracing his decision to step out from behind the shadow of his mother, Raq (Miller). Not only is the young man feeling these growing pains, but his mother is also beginning to see her son slip away, which ultimately leads her to question his loyalty to their business. With supporting performances from Wendell Pierce (The Wire) and Chris Redd (Saturday Night Live), the prequel series continues to shed light on the origin story of the character first made famous by Curtis “50 Cent” Jackson in Power.

Meet the Team Behind ‘Power Book III: Raising Kanan’

Delivering Starz one of its biggest original franchises, Courtney A. Kemp is the mastermind behind the original series, Power, which went on to spawn an entire universe of offshoots, including Raising Kanan. Kemp serves as an executive producer on the prequel production alongside its creator and showrunner, Sascha Penn. Jackson also returns to the high-stakes world as an executive producer and narrates the goings-on of his character’s younger years.

Time is ticking down on the fourth season of Power Book III: Raising Kanan, with the latest chapter coming to a close on May 9. Luckily, the network has already renewed the production for a fifth season, so audiences know the page will eventually turn again following whatever cliffhanger may await us.
