PORTLAND, Ore. (KOIN) — Summer-like heat broke records around Portland on Tuesday afternoon as highs soared into the upper 70s.

Preliminary temperatures put Portland at 80 degrees on Tuesday afternoon. That high breaks the old record of 74 degrees last set on March 25, 1966. Tuesday’s temperature is the warmest Portland has seen since mid-October 2024.

Another round of records are expected to fall on Wednesday. Afternoon highs are expected to warm into the mid to upper 70s along the Willamette Valley before thunderstorms move through the region. These warmer forecast highs will likely smash Portland’s old record of 73 degrees last set on March 26, 2015.
