Trump kickstarts 2028 election campaign as official hat launches on store

Donald Trump has launched merchandise for his 2028 presidential election campaign despite not being legally allowed to run for a third term. The Orange Manbaby has hinted at changing the US constitution to make a third term viable.

The $50 peaked cap is the usual Make America Great Again (MAGA) red and is embroidered with the words: “Trump 2028” in white. There is a horizontal line of five stars above and below the apparent election slogan and the website claims the hat is “made in America”.

The launch of the hat will, no doubt, infuriate the Republican President’s opposition, which already accuse him of being “fascist”. In an interview with NBC, Trump suggested there could be a loophole in the constitutional rule, which reads: “”no person… shall be elected more than twice”.

He said: “there are methods which you could do it”. He added later: “I’m not joking… a lot of people want me to do it.. But, I basically tell them we have a long way to go, you know, it’s very early in the administration.”

It comes as Republican politician Adam Kinzinger told the Daily Star that despite his fears about Trump’s second term, things are even worse than he anticipated.

“This is far worse than I imagined it could be quite honestly, in terms of the brazenness and the outright disregard for norms, for institutions and everything else,” he said.

“The big real crisis point will be determined by what happens when the Supreme Court, which seems to be right now pretty aggressively pushing back against him, what happens when they do something he doesn’t like, and does he follow that order or does he refuse it?

“I think that is the lynch pin that will determine if we are in a real crisis or not. It’s one thing to say to the Supreme Court that ‘I don’t agree’ and I think honestly that moment could come within the next few weeks.”

So far in Trump’s second term in the White House, he has caused global panic and a plummet in international markets through a brutal and far-reaching tariff plan that has sparked trade wars and instability around the world.

There are initial signs that he is now preparing to pull back on the severity of some of his rhetoric, with stock markets showing signs of life at the prospect of him rowing back on prior announcements.

For Mr Kinzinger, 47, this slowdown doesn’t mean the end of the chaos that Trump has enjoyed being at the centre of. “I feel like, to an extent, he’s starting to stall a little bit, which is good, but that doesn’t mean he’s stalled,” he said. “It doesn’t mean there’s not going to be more crises.”
