Twitter reacts after Broncos lose free agent WR to Giants

Former Denver Broncos wide receiver Lil’Jordan Humphrey has left the team in free agency to sign a one-year deal with the New York Giants.

Here’s a sampling of how fans and pundits reacted to the news on Twitter/X on Friday.

Humphrey played all 34 games with be Broncos the past two seasons, but he had only three targets (two receptions) over the last five games of 2024 as the Broncos leaned more heavily on their young cast at WR. https://t.co/IQU2Bg7h3e

Makes a lot of sense to let him walk imo

With Engram and Vele already serving as oversized slots and Sherfield being a dirty-work receiver, LJH was a little redundant in Denver https://t.co/1q9ya1YwMj

Now former Broncos WR Lil’Jordan Humphrey is signing 1-yr deal with Giants. Denver did make him offer to return for 3rd season.

Humphrey agent Jimmy Gould: “A lotta love and respect for Sean (Payton) and Broncos. This is about future opportunity and we felt Giants offered more.”

A person requested I put together a cutup of Lil’Jordan Humphrey’s dirty work plays that go unnoticed throughout the season, so that is exactly what I did.

So sit back, relax, and enjoy nearly 4 minutes of LJH being a demon in the run/screen game and one of Denver’s best YAC… pic.twitter.com/R3Ha7i7AG1

The Broncos are now left with Courtland Sutton, Marvin Mims, Devaughn Vele, Troy Franklin and Trent Sherfield as their top five wide receivers going into the 2025 campaign.
