Rodriguez, a one-time interim featherweight champion, looks to stifle Pitbull’s UFC title momentum before it can even begin. “El Pantera” needs a win after losing two straight fights, though he has fought nothing but elite competition for the past few years. He looks to add Pitbull’s name to a list of conquests that includes Chan Sung Jung, Josh Emmett, Brian Ortega, Jeremy Stephens, and B.J. Penn.
The 37-year-old Pitbull might have taken his time getting to the UFC, but he can jump right into the championship conversation with a win over Rodriguez. Pitbull won 24 of his 30 Bellator fights and captured titles in two divisions, thrice holding gold at 145 pounds and capturing the lightweight belt with a first-round knockout of Michael Chandler in 2019.
