Warriors Send Strong 6-Word Message Ahead of NBA Play-In Game vs. Grizzlies

The Golden State Warriors have had an eventful season. They saw Stephen Curry, at 37-years-old, play some of the best basketball of his career. They acquired Jimmy Butler from the Miami Heat in a drama-filled trade in early February. And they saw their Western Conference seed reach as high as No. 1 (November), only to finish as the No. 7 seed, landing in the NBA play-in tournament.

The Warriors will have two chances to play their way into the NBA playoffs. With a win on Tuesday night over the Memphis Grizzlies, the Warriors would face the Houston Rockets in the first-round of the playoffs. If they lose to the Grizzlies, they’ll need a win over the winner of the Sacramento Kings (No. 9) vs. the Dallas Mavericks (No. 10) to advance to a first-round matchup with the No. 1 seed Oklahoma City Thunder.

With tip-off of Warriors vs. Grizzlies scheduled for 10 p.m. EDT on Tuesday, the Warriors took to social media (on Monday), sending a strong, six-word message ahead of the showdown.

“Energy. Effort. Everything. Tomorrow, we hoop,” the post reads on @warriors official X account.

The Warriors find themselves in a similar situation as they did following the 2023-24 regular season. Last year, the Warriors finished as the No. 10 seed with a record of 46-36. They would lose their play-in game to the Kings, being eliminated from playoff contention.

The advantage the Warriors possess this season is they enter the play-in tournament as the No. 7 seed. This provides them a safety net if they were to lose to the Grizzlies on Tuesday night.

The Warriors finished with a regular-season-record of 3-1 against the Grizzlies. The Warriors will also host Tuesday night’s game, which should prove to be an additional advantage for Curry and company, as they finished with a 24-17 record inside Chase Center this season.
