LIV Golf and the PGA Tour seem to still be miles away from a promised merger, so the rival golf leagues will continue to compete against each other. Before they go head-to-head at the Masters, fans will get to judge which holds the better made-for-YouTube event.
The Duels will stream today, pairing LIV Golf stars with golf influencers in a fast-paced special event amid LIV Golf Miami at Trump National Doral. It will feature golf pros such as Joaquin Niemann and Bubba Watson alongside popular social media personalities including Fat Perez and the Bryan Brothers.
It’s an answer to the PGA Tour’s Creator Classic, which pits golf YouTube sensations against each other in nine-hole competitions. The first such event of the year took place before The Players Championship and was won by Grant Horvat, a South Fork High School and Palm Beach Atlantic University alumnus. He will also be part of today’s LIV Golf Duels.
The Creator Classic brought in more than 1 million views on the PGA Tour’s YouTube page. We’ll see how LIV Golf’s version measures up. Here’s what to know about the event, including how to watch and who will participate:
