Wrexham had themselves a bit of fun in the early stages of their game against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
Wrexham took a two-goal lead after just 18 minutes of their League One promotion crunch match against Charlton Athletic on Saturday.
On course for a third-straight promotion under owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney, goals came from Ollie Rathbone and soon after Sam Smith to lift the roof off the Racecourse.
But Wrexham fans had a fun message for Charlton Athletic boss Nathan Jones who called Wrexham a ‘circus’ in the build up to the game.

Wrexham paid £2million to sign Smith in the January transfer window and that goal against Charlton alone pays back the money spent. It was his sixth goal since joining the Dragons and it prompted a comical chant from the Wrexham fans towards Jones.
Not forgetting Jones’ circus comments, journalist Richard Sutcliffe revealed on X what the Wrexham fans were chanting towards Jones, which could be heard loud and clear through the TV and right around the ground.
Nope… Teams have won two promotions in a row and teams have won multiple promotions in several years. But in the top five leagues of English football no team has ever won three promotions in a row.
If Wrexham can hang on against Charlton Athletic then they’ll make history. But owners Reynolds and McElhenney won’t want the rise to stop there, with the Championship just one stop away from the Premier League – the big time.
Wrexham finish their season away at Lincoln City next weekend.
