Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs found guilty on two of five counts
The jury in Sean “Diddy” Combs’s federal criminal trial found the hip-hop mogul guilty on two of the five counts filed against him and acquitted him of the other three. Here’s the latest.
The verdict: The panel acquitted Combs of racketeering and sex trafficking, the most serious charges, but found him guilty of two prostitution-related offenses. The judge in the case ruled that he will remain in jail until sentencing. [Yahoo News]
Reactions: Combs’s son Christian supported his father after the verdict, saying, “We’re so happy, my Pops is coming home,” while singer Aubrey O’Day, who previously worked with Combs, called the verdict “a gut punch.” [ABC News/Hollywood Reporter]
What’s next: Combs faces a maximum of 20 years in prison for two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution. His sentencing hearing is currently scheduled for Oct. 3. [Reuters]

⚖️ Asylum ban blocked
A federal judge yesterday blocked a White House policy that restricts migrants who cross the southern border from seeking asylum, saying that Trump exceeded his legal authority as president when instituting the ban. [ABC News]
➡️ Social Security update
Nearly 2 million Americans will see smaller Social Security checks this month as the Trump administration attempts to recoup money that was overpaid. Half of a beneficiary’s monthly check will be withheld until the sum of the overpayments is reclaimed. [Yahoo Finance]
🥓 Turkey bacon recall
Kraft Heinz is recalling over 360,000 pounds of fully cooked turkey bacon products that were shipped nationwide and may be contaminated with listeria. See which items are on the list. [USA Today]
