News outlets in India have also reported that users in that country were unable to send messages or upload statuses.
On Facebook, local blogger Lee Kin Mun, better known as mrbrown, said: “I think WhatsApp is down. We will have to send our good night posts tomorrow.”
On social media platform X, users who are based in India, Indonesia and Vietnam according to their location tags, said that they were affected by the outage.
Many screenshots uploaded by users showed exclamation mark logos beside their messages, which indicate that the messages could not be delivered.
This is a developing story.
