“1923” is the second “Yellowstone” prequel and follows the events of the limited series “1883,” released in 2021. The series follows a new generation of Duttons led by patriarch Jacob and matriarch Cara, played by Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren.

‘1923’ filming locations
Collider reports that a majority of the filming for “1923” was done in Butte, Montana. However, eight additional towns and cities in Montana were also used as filming locations, including Anaconda, Deer Lodge, Dillon, Hamilton, Park City, Pony, Valier and Whitehall.
Several international spots were also used as filming locations for the series, including Serengeti National Park in Tanzania, Umgeni Station in South Africa, Kearsney Manor in South Africa and Grand Harbor in Valletta, Malta.
Does Jack Dutton die in ‘1923’?
Yes, Jack Dutton dies during episode 6, titled “The Mountain Teeth of Monsters,” per Screen Rant.
While his uncle Jacob Dutton is waiting for Spencer’s arrival at the Livingston train station, Jack Dutton is told to stay behind at the family lodge and keep watch instead. However, an aggravated Jack decides to break protocol and leave his post.

During episode 6, Alexandra took a trip from Wisconsin to Montana with Paul and Hillary, a “British couple who saved her from being arrested on the train,” per Screen Rant. However, their car ran out of gas during their journey, and the couple froze to death.
Alexandra reportedly survived because she had an extra blanket and hadn’t been drinking like the others.
