A nearly full complement of the baseball schedule finally kicks off as MLB goes from the Tokyo Series to domestic bliss. While the Los Angeles Dodgers and Chicago Cubs started the season in Japan, those two official games feel like a technicality. When is MLB Opening Day 2025?
The Dodgers and Cubs officially got things started with the Tokyo Series that took place on March 18 and 19, seeing L.A. sweep the two-game series. The rest of the league will open the season on Thursday, March 27. The Colorado Rockies and Tampa Bay Rays will wait until Friday for their season opener at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa.

How to watch MLB Opening Day
The national audience will have two chances to enjoy Opening Day as ESPN will broadcast Brewers vs. Yankees at 3:05 p.m. ET. That will be followed by the defending World Series champion Dodgers welcoming the Tigers at 7:10 p.m. ET. MLB Network promises to have regional coverage of the Cubs-Diamondbacks and A’s-Mariners night games.
