Why Craig Conover Doesn’t Recognize Ex Paige DeSorbo After Breakup

Watch: ‘Southern Charm’s’ Craig Conover Grilled About Paige DeSorbo in Reunion Trailer

Craig Conover is seeing a different side of Paige DeSorbo—and he isn’t exactly charmed.

The Southern Charm star revealed how his perception of his ex-girlfriend has changed since their November 2024 breakup during the Bravo series’ season 10 reunion and specifically reacted to the Summer House star applauding a public shout-out from Bravo-superfan Jon Hamm after she announced their split.

“She commented on it and was like, ‘I’ve watched this a million times, it’s amazing,'” Craig said during the March 27 episode when host Andy Cohen asked about the viral moment. “And you’re just like, ‘God, we’re so different. How are you finding the fun in this?’ To me, the person that she’s kind of been since the breakup isn’t the person that I remember dating.”

The comment prompted Andy to ask exactly how Paige has changed since ending their three-year relationship.

“She’s fighting with people in the comments,” the Sewing Down South founder explained. “She’s starting to say mean stuff about me based on what the internet is saying. I’m just like, ‘I didn’t do anything to you.'”

“Sure, I wasn’t a perfect boyfriend,” the 36-year-old added. “I had a lot of s–t that I had to work out. It’s been an interesting breakup to say the least.”

Craig also revealed that—after Paige’s unexpected breakup call last November—he didn’t believe the breakup was actually happening.

“After a three-year relationship when a girl has asked you to buy an engagement ring—and you did,” he noted, “and asked you to move to New York—and you have agreed to move to New York. When you just get a phone call after spending s great Thanksgiving weekend with her and then she was like, ‘We’ll talk about it,’ so I didn’t think it was real.”

He continued, “After Watch What Happens Live, I went to her apartment to just be like, ‘What’s happening?’ and she’s like, ‘I’m probably making the worst mistake of my life, but I need to go find myself.’ And then I asked her, ‘What do you want me to do with your ring?’ She’s like, ‘Keep it. Maybe we’ll get married at BravoCon.'”

Of course, the chances of that happening now are zero. Despite getting dumped, Craig noted he’s found comfort in his costars and from fans on social media.

“I’ve never felt more supported in my life,” he gushed. “The thousands of people that watch our shows, so many people related to it. So many people were like, ‘I know you don’t want to hear this, but it just takes time.’ It was a shared experience, which was really special and helped me feel less alone.”

Southern Charm‘s season 10 reunion continues Thursday, April 3, at 8 p.m. on Bravo. In the meantime, keep reading to look back at Craig and Paige’s relationship timeline.

Winter House co-stars Craig Conover and Paige DeSorbo started casually seeing each other in summer 2021 before becoming a couple that fall. As Craig told E! News, “We openly dated around until it just got to the point where, you know, you like one person so much that you don’t want to do that anymore.”

Craig joined Paige for a photobooth session as they celebrated her Summer House co-stars Kyle Cooke and Amanda Batula saying “I do” on September 25.

Amid online speculation that the couple had broken up, Craig shut down the breakup rumors.

“I don’t know where that came from, because we’re together, like, every week,” he told E! News in December 2024. “So, no, Paige and I are not broken up. We’re still together.”

Following months of split speculation, Paige announced over the 2024 holidays that she and Craig had officially split after three years of dating.

“No one did anything. It wasn’t a bad thing,” Paige said during her Dec. 30 Giggly Squad podcast episode. “I think we both were just being really mature and saying what we want and what we didn’t want, and I think that’s extremely powerful to be able to voice how you’re feeling in real time and what you want for your future.”

The influencer also shot down rumors of cheating between her and the Southern Charm star and insisted the parting of ways was amicable.

“I think he is one of the best people I’ve met in my entire life,” Paige continued. “I will remain the biggest fan of him and want the best for him, and he truly will get the best because he is the best.”

Over a week after the breakup news went public, Craig shared his side of the story.

“This has all been very, very unexpected, to say the least,” Craig said in a video shared to Instagram Jan. 7. “I was very shocked and it’s ok, it takes two people to be in a relationship. You can’t control other people you can only control how you react to it.”

That said, Craig also wants everyone to extend grace to his now-ex.

“I’m still processing everything, which is normal, I mean, three-year relationship, it’s your best friend who you talk to all day, every day and then they’re just gone,” he noted. “So one day I’ll be able to talk more on it but right now I just wanted to thank everyone for their kind messages.”
