With the finale of The Bachelor airing tonight, we unfortunately won’t be getting to see The Bachelorette in its normal summer timeslot this year.

If you did not get a chance to see the news, last month, it was reported that ABC had decided not to air a new cycle of The Bachelorette in 2025. At the time, they did not explain their decision.

Well, former Bachelorettes Trista Sutter and Rachel Recchia were both guests on “The Ben and Ashley I. Almost Famous” podcast in the days after the announcement, where they spoke about a rumor circulating.

They had heard that the lead of The Bachelorette was reportedly already chosen, but ABC decided to halt the cycle. Why? They apparently want to give The Bachelorette‘s May/June 2025 timeslot to season two of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, which has a similar demographic to the Bachelor Nation viewers.

None of this has been confirmed by ABC at this time, and still remains just rumor.

The season finale of The Bachelor is airing on ABC tonight and stars Grant Ellis.

Grant was a contestant on the last season of The Bachelorette with Jenn Tran, who is no longer with the winner of her season.
