A woman and her 1-year-old daughter were taken by kidnappers overnight who demanded $1 million, according to the Garner Police Department.
Police said three masked people, two Hispanic men and one Hispanic woman, were armed with guns when they broke into a home in Garner, just south of Raleigh.
They demanded a man in the home, identified as Eliuth Alejandro Martinez, give them $1 million, according to police. When he refused, the group restrained him with tape and took his wife, Alondra Michelle Benitez De Jesus, and daughter, police said.
“Grecia Salome Alejandro-Benitez is a 13-month-old, Hispanic female, approximately 2 feet tall, weighing 26 pounds. She has brown hair, and brown eyes. Pink pajama shirt, red and yellow stripped pajama pants, abducted with mother Alondra Michelle Benitez-De Jesus,” according to the Amber Alert.
They were taken in a black Nissan Altima, officials said.
The Amber Alert was issued at 2:15 a.m. Tuesday.
“The FBI and SBI are on scene assisting with the investigation,” police said.
