WTA Madrid Day 4 Predictions Including Elena Rybakina vs Bianca Andreescu

Two Grand Slam champions will meet in a blockbuster WTA Madrid encounter on Day 4. 2022 Wimbledon champion Elena Rybakina and 2019 US Open winner Bianca Andreescu’s match could be one of the highlights of the tournament. We at LWOT predict all the action in our articles, including Emma Raducanu vs Marta Kostyuk, Jessica Pegula vs Eva Lys, and Aryna Sabalenka vs Anna Blinkova.

WTA Madrid Day 4 Predictions

Daria Kasatkina vs Alycia Parks

Head-to-head: Kasatkina 1-0 Parks

Parks has the potential to make life challenging for Kasatkina, who sometimes struggles against big hitters and returners. Having said that, Kasatkina undoubtedly possesses more overall class on clay than the American. Parks needs to serve big and take advantage on second serve return since Kasatkina will likely have the edge in rallies. Overall, the 14th seed’s consistency can be trusted more to triumph.

Prediction: Kasatkina in 3

Paula Badosa vs Veronika Kudermetova

Head-to-head: Kudermetova 4-2 Badosa

The head-to-head looks worrying at first glance for Badosa. However, three of Kudermetova’s wins were before 2022, and Badosa hammered the 28-year-old in their only previous meeting in Madrid. Like Parks, Kudermetova needs to find her serve on the slightly quicker clay in Madrid to challenge the home favorite. But Badosa’s much superior defensive skills and baseline consistency at her best on clay make her the favorite.

Prediction: Badosa in 2

Elise Mertens vs Camila Osorio

Head-to-head: Mertens 3-0 Osorio

This could be a very lengthy match. Neither player is naturally aggressive from the baseline, but they attack in different ways when being proactive. Osorio prefers to step in on the forehand while Mertens is more comfortable doing that with her backhand. Osorio’s best chance of beating Mertens is on clay, and the recent Copa Colsanitas champion might catch the Belgian cold and cause a minor upset in Madrid.

Prediction: Osorio in 3

Elena Rybakina vs Bianca Andreescu

Head-to-head: Rybakina 2-0 Andreescu

Andreescu has made a promising start to the clay court swing, her first matches after almost six months out with an injury. The Canadian dominated McCartney Kessler in the previous round. Rybakina, who surprisingly chose not to defend her title at the Porsche Tennis Grand Prix in Stuttgart, will play her first match on clay in 2025 against Andreescu. Although this is a good time to face Rybakina, Andreescu does have a chance, but the Kazakhstani’s greater firepower still makes her the favorite to progress.

Prediction: Rybakina in 3
