Everton vs Arsenal: Premier League — LIVE

Mikel Arteta sends his Gunners side to Goodison this afternoon, still holding hope of catching Liverpool in the Premier League title race while also having one eye on a huge Champions League test in midweek. There are plenty of decisions the Arsenal manager must make with both today and Real Madrid on Tuesday in mind.

Influential defender Gabriel has been ruled out for the rest of the season in a huge injury blow for Arsenal, and Arteta will be sure to take time to decide on who will deputise with Jurrien Timber and Ben White needing minutes after niggling fitness issues. Bukayo Saka will also be demanding more minutes, having only just returned from his own hamstring injury.

Opposition manager David Moyes has revitalised Everton since his return, though lost the Merseyside derby last time out, and will be relishing the chance to take on a player he signed way back in 2005. It hasn’t been pretty, but Arteta will have few concerns. Everton need to shift up a gear in the second half.

And Arsenal’s bench will surely be used soon. Saka time when?

Not the most entertaining half you’ve ever seen, but Trossard has given the Gunners the lead.

Everton not doing a whole lot, either.

51min: There’s the whistle.

50min: Ndiaye with a pop from distance which fizzes over the bar.

49min: Almost a second for Arsenal as Tarkowski slips and almost lets Trossard in, the shot is block and so is Rice’s follow-up.

48min: Everton seem to be just waiting for half-time. No urgency at all.

45min: Six minutes added on.

43min: Now Trossard is down, but he’s just making a meal of it.

42min: Merino will continue and four minutes will be added on at the end of the half.

41min: He’s up and has a cut on his head. Will he continue?
